1Password, an identity security leader, today announced it surpassed $500 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), growing net new ARR by approximately 60% through the first three quarters of FY26, with Q3 26 at approximately 90% year over year growth. The acceleration is being fueled by growing adoption of 1Password’s developer and AI security tools as customers secure the AI agents and workflows they build. Monthly active usage of these tools has grown 200% year over year. The number of businesses using 1Password now exceeds 200,000, including 85% of the Forbes AI 50, and the net new logos added in Q3 is up 150% year over year. Building on this momentum, the company continues to invest in 1Password Unified Access, its platform that discovers and secures identities and credentials, establishes trusted access, and audits activity across humans, AI agents, and machines. For people using personal AI agents, 1Password for Agents lets people approve task-specific access for agents without exposing the underlying credentials to the agent or its model context.
The Future of Trusted Access
AI agents now execute actions on behalf of people across accounts, codebases, infrastructure, and business systems, often without a human present for each operation. Those actions require distinct agent identities, scoped permissions, and a complete audit trail. Long-lived credentials and standing access were not designed for this operating model, and create unacceptable risk. 1Password is expanding from protecting credentials in a trusted vault to governing dynamic access for humans, AI agents, and machine workloads. Access is scoped to a specific task, granted only when required, and revoked when the task completes. 1Password is partnering with frontier AI labs, hyperscalers, and personal AI agent providers, including Anthropic, Instinct, KERNEL, Meta, NVIDIA, OpenAI, Perplexity, Ramp, Snowflake, SpaceXSI, Town, and more to bring 1Password directly into the workflows agents are built, deployed, and operated.
1Password Privileged Access, part of the Unified Access platform, enforces zero standing privilege for humans and AI agents through just-in-time, just-enough access. 1Password Credential Broker, part of the Unified Access platform, verifies AI agents and machine workloads at runtime and delivers only the credentials each is authorized to receive. 1Password for Agents brings the same model to personal AI agents used by consumers and small businesses, letting people approve what an agent can access for each task while keeping credentials protected in 1Password. For larger organizations, Unified Access applies the same principles to dedicated workplace AI assistants.
1Password’s Financial Momentum
The accelerating adoption of developer and AI security tools is propelling 1Password’s continued business momentum, including:
- Surpassing $500 million in ARR, with the share of ARR from its 200,000+ business customers exceeding 75% and continuing to grow
- Growing net new ARR by approximately 60% through the first three quarters of FY26
- Maintaining strong double-digit free cash flow margin
- Growing the number of customers spending more than $100,000 ARR annually by more than 40% year over year
- Improving net retention year over year while maintaining 90%+ gross retention
Growth Accelerated by Developer and AI Builder Adoption
Developers and AI builders are bringing 1Password into the workflows where agents are built and operated. Adoption of the company’s developer and AI security tools is accelerating across both human and non-human users:
- Monthly active human users of developer and AI security tools grew 200% year over year.
- Monthly active non-human identity users of developer and AI security tools grew 500% year over year.
- Developer and AI security tools are now used in 16% of business accounts.
“AI agents are rapidly changing how people work and live, but unlocking their potential requires trust,” said David Faugno, CEO of 1Password. “People need to remain in control of what agents can access and what they can do. The defining challenge is not simply to make agents more capable, but to give them a trusted way to act on our behalf. 1Password has spent the past 20 years earning trust by providing people with simple, secure access to their digital world, and we are now applying that foundation to secure how agents get work done for people while keeping them in control. Accelerating through $500 million in ARR, with the fastest growth coming from customers adopting our developer and AI security tools, demonstrates that 1Password, alongside its network of partners, is becoming the trusted foundation for agents.”
“Developers shouldn’t have to choose between shipping agents quickly and shipping them safely,” said Mayank Upadhyay, Chief Security and Trust Officer at Snowflake. “Our integration with 1Password gives every agent action a compound identity, tying it to both the agent and the person it acts for, so security teams get a full audit trail and can apply tighter policies to agent sessions without limiting the user’s own access.”
“Enterprises are moving quickly to put AI agents to work, but every agent needs access to the systems, data and accounts that make it useful. That makes identity the control point for agentic AI. Organizations that can’t see and govern what their agents can reach will struggle to scale them safely. 1Password’s growth reflects how quickly identity security is moving up the priority list as AI adoption accelerates,” said Duncan Brown, Group Vice President, Global Domain Lead: Worldwide Security & Trust, IDC.
